What they’re saying about us...

As parents of a child with special hearing needs, we have often felt a sense of inadequacy. Desert Voices has done a phenomenal job of helping our child to develop the language skills that he needs in order to keep-up with kids in his age group. They have also helped us, as parents, to restore our self confidence in the ability we have to do the same. Thank you Desert Voices!

We have been so amazed with the progress our four-year-old daughter has made in her speech, all thanks to Desert Voices. The teachers and staff do an excellent job of teaching the children in a fun, creative and engaging way. As a result, our daughter LOVES going to school. She even begged us to take her to school during Spring Break!

Our four-month-old son was diagnosed with congenital hearing loss soon after birth. We were very overwhelmed at first, because we had no experience with hearing impaired children. In the short time he has been enrolled in Desert Voices, we have learned many valuable skills that have helped us effectively engage and interact with him. It is wonderful to have such an expert and caring support system.

Without Desert Voices, Emmy wouldn't be where she is today. Emmy got the early start she needed from Desert Voices so that she could go to public school with her sister. Desert Voices gave Emmy more than just language and listening skills; it gave her the self confidence that she wouldn't have gotten at any other school.

Bringing Zackery to Desert Voices has been a great decision. The progress he has made in the time he has been here is remarkable. Zackery loves to go to school, loves his teachers, and all the other students. Thanks Desert Voices!

Simply said, I learned to talk because of Desert Voices! Thanks to Desert Voices, I am going to college next year!

Without the structure of Desert Voices, my daughter wouldn't be at the level she is at. People who meet Abby are amazed that she is deaf. By listening to her speak and without seeing the implant, most assume that she is a hearing child.

Desert Voices completely changed our entire lives. Our daughter learned how to speak and listen and is now in a mainstream first grade classroom. At our last parent/teacher conference they informed us that she is reading at a second grade reading level, 2.8! We will be forever grateful to the staff at Desert Voices; by teaching MaKenzie how to listen and talk, it opened up the entire world for her. We have been away from D.V. for almost 2 years now, but MaKenzie still talks about her teachers and friends she had there. The few years we spent driving her 100 miles round trip, back and forth to school, were well worth the sacrifice, because what she learned there will impact the rest of her life. Desert Voices will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Desert Voices not only taught my son how to use his cochlear implant with intensive speech therapy, but taught me how to continue on once he was mainstreamed into the public school system.

We moved from Florida two years ago and were very anxious about whether we could find adequate resources (schooling, therapy, etc) to help our son, Joey, who has bilateral microtia. We found Desert Voices and our lives have been so dramatically changed, and more importantly, Joey’s life has been forever improved. The schooling is terrific, and the therapy sessions have made an enormous impact. Joey can’t wait to see his therapist each week, and his speech has shown awesome improvement. I am very, very grateful for Desert Voices and will be a lifelong supporter and advocate of their work with hearing impaired children.
