Tuition & Financial Assistance
In order to provide high quality services, it is necessary to Desert Voices to charge tuition and fees for each child. The commitment made by the Board of Directors, when the organization was founded, was that no eligible child would be turned away because of a family’s inability to cover the associated costs. Each year, through fundraising efforts, Desert Voices provides more than $1 Million in financial assistance to its families. While our financial assistance program has been generous, we firmly believe that families should contribute towards the services that their child is receiving, so financial assistance is awarded on financial need basis, with the final amount determined by an independent agency.
Therapy fees and tuition rates for both programs are reviewed and adjusted appropriately each year, based on the average cost per child attending each program. Associated fees are approved by the Board of Directors annually.
Fees for tuition and therapy are collected in these ways:
- School district contracts
- Parent payment
- Insurance billing
Funding to support financial assistance for families is provided by:
- Foundations and Grants
- Special Events income
- Individual and Corporate Donations
- Insurance billing for Speech Therapy sessions
Any family who is interested in enrolling their child at Desert Voices is strongly encouraged to complete a financial assistance application to determine what their fiscal responsibility would be, should a school district not contract or insurance company not cover the fees. Families may request financial assistance by completing and submitting a financial assistance application. Families may request an application from the Executive Director. All families receiving financial assistance will sign a letter of agreement annually regarding their assessed tuition and fees.
