Hear for Kids

Hear for Kids is a charitable program providing hearing devices and services for financially eligible children in Arizona. Hear for Kids was previously led by Lylis Olsen at The Arizona Ear Foundation for 27 years. Desert Voices is honored to carry on their legacy and continue the program as historically structured. Hear for Kids is made possible through generous funding provided by Vitalyst Health Foundation.

  • What is the eligibility criteria?

    *Household income is at or below 250% of the Federal Poverty Level (See chart below)
    *Age birth to 18, or 21 if enrolled in school
    *Child does not have or does not qualify for AHCCCs

  • What services are covered?

    *Diagnostic hearing test
    *Hearing aids and repairs
    *Cochlear implant repairs and programming
    *Medical clearance for hearing aid use
    *Loaner hearing aids
    **All services must be provided in Maricopa County

  • Where can my child be seen?

    *Your child can be seen by any audiologist or provider that agrees to take the Hear for Kids voucher as payment in full

  • How do I apply?

    *The family and audiologist/referring provider fill out the application
    *Applications are available on the Desert Voices website
